Fields of interest

  • Organizational communication (executive and management development, communication skills training)
  • Group dynamics (peer mentoring, critical reflection)
  • Evaluation of training (transfer of learning, barriers to learning)
  • Interpersonal communication (presentation skills, relational communication)

Ongoing research

My research tends to involve program and training evaluation. My interest in mentoring relationships and the impact of these connections on both mentors and mentees will continue to form the basis of my research focus for the next year. Research objectives include measuring the impact of different forms of peer support relationships on the integration, retention, and student experience of university students. I am interested in the development of support networks and social capital, the impact of technology on networks, and the motivations of volunteers.
