A word from the Chair
Welcome to the Department of Communication!
Combining theory and practice, our courses in the baccalaureate programs develop critical and analytical skills and help students to acquire training that will prepare them for professional careers or, alternatively, advanced studies.
The Department of Communication offers courses in the two main areas of the discipline: media (press, video production, multimedia…) and organizational communication (communication in public and private organizations, public relations, group dynamics…)
The Honours BA and the Major programs offer a co-operative education option and allow students to do four paid work terms in a business or a public organization.
The Baccalaureate in Journalism is offered in co-operation with Algonquin College. The Department of Communication looks after the theoretical, analytical and critical aspects, while Algonquin College looks after the field work.
The Department is also offering a Master of Arts in Communication. Teaching and research emphasize major issues related to new information and communication technologies in media and organizations at national and international levels.
In our " information society", Communication is a vital discipline!
